New Travel Finds in the Philippines 2025

My country Philippines has plenty in store for everyone.

I have been around the country my whole life, but there are still plenty of things to do, to see, to experience.

Davao City

During the Holy Week of 2025 (April 17-20), I was in the country to celebrate the  holidays with my family. We booked a 5-day tour to Davao City. We stayed at an Airbnb house near the airport and rented a "self-drive" car.

The arrival day, which was on Holy Thursday, was our first day of tour and while waiting for the 2pm check in time, we headed straight to the Eden Nature Park. And stayed home that afternoon to sleep and acclimatize.

On Good Friday, we did the "Visita Iglesia" to 7 churches to commemorate the way of the cross and recite the prayers for the 14 stations.

1. Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish - Redemptorist Church

2. Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

3. Sta. Ana Shrine Parish Church

4. San Pedro Metropolitan Cathedral

5. Our Lady of the Assumption Parish

6. St. Francis of Assisi Parish

7. St. Paul’s Parish Church

Then we added one more to the list above by visiting the largest Holy Rosary Garden and the Christ the King Cathedral in Tagum City.

Samal Island

We added an overnight stay in the Garden City of Samal Island in the Davao itinerary. We boarded on a ferry along with the car and went around the island.

Hagimit Falls

Canibad Beach

Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort

Gapan City

Before my home vacation ended, En and I have been practicing driving our Toyota Fortuner (we named "Forton") for long distance. On April 26, Saturday, we found Casa Batik in Gapan City very intriguing. En drove Forton on our way there, which was her very first and longest drive of 70 KM.

I was driving on our return.
