I got a glimpse, actually a taste, of Switzerland when we availed of day trips to St Moritz and Lugano.
It was spring when I and my friends reached some portions of the Swiss Alps. So, the chill is nipping but not freezing.
On board the Bernina Express, traversing the hills and mountains, passing by rivers and lakes, and of course glaciers, was one best experience we have had in the country.
St. Moritz was our first landing, only to find it drab or hibernating. I gathered that this favorite place for the rich and famous is very much jubilant during wintertime.
Lugano Lake is another spectacle. Just strolling along its banks or sitting on the lakeside benches to pass the time was already special and wonderful.
This 2-day visit has provided me an opportunity to have a look and feel of this small but rich European country, and formed in me the desire to be back someday.
