LOL @ 50: A Birthday to Remember

On January 9, 2026, I celebrated my golden milestone—my 50th birthday—with the theme Live Out Loud. And true to that mantra, the day was filled with laughter, music, magic, and unforgettable moments shared with the people who’ve been part of my journey.

🏠 The Venue: California Garden Square Clubhouse

The Clubhouse of the California Garden Square Condominiums was the perfect setting—spacious, welcoming, and ideal for a night of festivity. It became a vibrant hub where stories were exchanged, laughter echoed, and memories were made.

🎭 Entertainment: Magic, Laughter, and Music

To embody Live Out Loud, I curated performances that kept the energy high:

  • A magician amazed guests with tricks that sparked childlike wonder. Ricky Quinsay brought in his crew to showcase new tricks and bubble shows.



  • A comedian had everyone roaring with laughter, proving humor is the best gift at any age. Vhize Negra brought in wit and hilarity.

  • A live band set the tone with music that got people dancing, singing, and celebrating life. Genie Singer and the Band rendered music of various genre, and belted out "Golden" with flawless rendition.


🍰 The Feast and Toasts

No milestone birthday is complete without indulgence:

  • A custom-made 3-tier cake stood proudly at the center, both beautiful and delicious. The Cubcakes Philippines (owned and managed by my friends, James and Froyd) delivered my happiness.
  • A caterer ensured everyone’s plates were full of flavors worth savoring. Hayami Party Needs presented all tables with glam of flavors.


  • A mobile bar kept spirits high with cocktails and drinks flowing throughout the night. Thirst Mobile Bar is indeed the choice of celebrities and influencers (hoping I am one of them1).

📸 Capturing the Legacy

I wanted every smile, every toast, and every dance move to be remembered. That’s why I hired a photographer and videographer to document the evening. These keepsakes will serve as timeless reminders of the love and joy that filled the room.

💡 Reflections: Living Out Loud

Turning 50 isn’t just about age—it’s about embracing life boldly, joyfully, and unapologetically. This celebration was my way of saying:

  • Here’s to the next chapter—one that I’ll continue to live out loud, with passion and gratitude.

✨ This wasn’t just a birthday party. It was a declaration: life is meant to be celebrated, connections cherished, and milestones honored with laughter, music, and love.

Water, a Natural Wonder in Malvar, Batangas

A call of duty led me to Malvar, Batangas for a week. A week is too long to stay in one place, so I googled on the potential tourist spots or natural wonders in the town or nearby places like Lipa City or Tanauan City. Then I found one very interesting plac in Malvar town itself, the Calejon Falls. Located in Brgy San Gregorio (trivia: Calejon was the old name), I took the usual and only transport around here - tricycle. Those who have been here said in their blogs that the trip cost 50 pesos, but the driver (I didn't get his name) charged me 55 pesos per way. It was around 10AM when we crossed the STAR Tollway and reached the dropoff point.   One there, I noticed no signage, nor guide posts, no indication of which way, where to go, what must and what not to do. I realized that this supposedly interesting natural wonder, which should have been a touristy spot, is not maximized by both the municipal and barangay local government. ACtive Wanders around Central Asia

This has been the well-planned travel the LAAG friends ever had. The trio (Anneth, Crisanto & Jea) agreed to obtain a travel agency, "Wandering Lens" of Singapore, to manage the land arrangements of the our 15-day Central Asia Tour. The 4-country travel, covering Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, started on Aug 16 and finished on Aug 31, 2025 via Qatar Airways. Jea flew from Auckland NZ, while Anneth from Singapore, and I from Manila, we met at Qatar to and from Almaty KZ... And thus we extended our travel itinerary maximizing our 20-hour stopover in Doha, Qatar (featured on a separate blog). Kazakhstan It was Nomadia Tours who managed locally our Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan trips. Elaman, the owner of the agency, acted as our driver and tour guide. We spent a total of 4 days in Kazakhstan staying 2 nights at Renion City Hotel in Almaty City and another 2 nights at Aryn House in Saty Village.
