GUAMazing Stopover

It was on August 14, 2024 that I landed at Guam for the first time. I rushed to connect to my onward flight to Pohnpei. So I only got a selfie. Same thing happened to me on my return trip to Manila in November 2024.

On January 1st of 2025, I passed by Guam again and have to clear the immigration fast to board my onward flight to Pohnpei. I was able to grab another selfie. On my second return trip to Manila in April 2025, I had a long layover but I stayed at the airport the whole time.

In June 2025, I started traveling around the island states of Micronesia. I connected again at Guam  when I flew from Kosrae to Yap on June 17 but yet again I only have 4 hours of layover.

Finally, I got the chance to stay in the country on July 6, upon my return from Yap Island and on my way back to Pohnpei. Because the flights have strange schedules, I arrived at 4am and will leave at 6pm, I decided to book 2 nights at Orchid Garden Hotel. I confidently did so because it is paid as part of my travel expense cared of the company.

I spent the day tour with colleague, Malai from Laos, who also connected in Guam on her way to Pohnpei. We have the same flight schedule, so she transferred to my accommodation after she checked out from her hotel. Then we roamed around the small country, from Tumon Beach to the Micronesia Mall.

Guam is small but also amazing. It may be small a tiny territory but we have not checked all its attractions. Something to look forward to in the next stopovers.
